Kristin Wilksinson has composed, orchestrated and conducted music for film scores, TV shows and numerous record productions.
With Marty Stuart and Larry Paxton, she was nominated for a Golden Globe award for Best Musical Score on the movie All The Pretty Horses. She won the Premiere Video Award for her film score for Prancer Returns and her original songs have appeared in the films The Great Debaters and Soul Surfer. Kristin recently collaborated with Native American artist Bill Miller on a landmark symphonic work entitled “The Last Stand”. She has orchestrated, contracted and performed on many TV Specials including the Country Music Awards, the Grammy Awards and the Dove Awards. Kristin handles all of the arranging and orchestrating each year on ABC’s highly rated Country Christmas.
Kristin’s orchestrations, vocal arrangements and songs have appeared on countless recordings across all genres. Artists as diverse as Lady Antebellum, Ben Folds, Jimmy Buffett, Neil Young, Reba McEntire, Jewel, The Killers, Roy Orbison, Sheryl Crow, Dolly Parton, Linda Rondstadt and Keith Urban have called on her to enhance their records. Kristin has arranged numerous chart topping records in every decade since her first multi platinum act, Alabama, in the 1980’s up to the present time including Lady Antebellum, Kelly Clarkson, 3 Doors Down and Kenny Chesney.
In addition to her work as an arranger, Kristin has been a top call studio violist appearing on thousands of recordings since 1980. Among them: Johnny Cash, Ray Charles, George Jones, Jason Mraz, Michael Buble, Liza Minelli, Willie Nelson, Dixie Chicks, Whitney Houston, Elton John and many contemporary hit makers.
